Informed Solutions

Drawing on AI’s knowledge to broaden possible solutions and inform collective judgment.

Intelligence serving the common good

HUMANIA aims to make artificial intelligence a tool for finding solutions to collective problems. Its ability to draw connections across many fields can help link issues, explore alternatives and develop practical approaches. This pillar complements public memory, debate, accountability and participatory democracy.

From problems to action

1. Document the problem: gather data, verify sources and identify what remains unknown.

2. Understand the causes: bring together scientific, technical, economic and social knowledge.

3. Explore solutions: propose several options and outline the steps needed to implement them.

4. Compare consequences: examine costs, timelines, benefits, risks and trade-offs.

5. Deliberate and follow up: submit options to citizens, specialists and decision-makers, then track results and refine proposals.

A rigorous, non-partisan approach

Solutions should be assessed on their arguments, evidence and consequences. HUMANIA seeks analysis independent of partisan interests, with transparent sources, assumptions and comparison criteria. AI can still make mistakes or reproduce biases: its analyses must remain open to challenge and correction.

AI proposes. Humans decide.

Logic helps compare means, but collective choices also involve values and priorities. Citizens retain their judgment and their voice. HUMANIA is developing progressively: this page describes an ambition of the project, whose tools will be specified as they are implemented.

An example: pesticides in drinking water

When contamination is documented, AI could help compare prevention at the source, protection of water catchment areas, monitoring and suitable treatments. It could organize the steps, identify missing information and inform choices. This example illustrates the approach; any intervention requires local data and validation by specialists.
